Carboplatin
Myelosuppression: Anaphylaxis Risk
- Under supervision of experienced physician in the use of cancer chemotherapy in Equipped Facility for management of therapy and complications
- Myleosuppression: dose related and severe, resulting in infection and/or bleeding.
- Anemia may be cumulative and require transfusions
- Vomiting is another frequent drug related side effect
- Anaphylaxis reactions may occur within minutes of administration. Epinephrine, corticosteroids and antihistamines may alleviate symptoms.
Monitoring data

- Perform peripheral blood counts frequently during therapy and until recovery is achieved.
- Avoid confusion with cisplatin (see cisplatin package insert)
