Ribavirin /interferon
- Contraindicated in pregnancy and in male partners of women who are pregnant Significant teratogenecity in all animal models studied. Ribavirin monotherapy not effective for treatment of chronic hepatitis C and should not be used for this indication. (Also See Interferons for additional warnings)
Monitoring data
- Avoid pregnancy during therapy and for 6 months after completion of treatment in female patients and in female partners of male patients.
- Use two forms of contraception during treatment and for six months post therapy completion.
